BOTM: OPEN X CHRIS KING LIMITED EDITION - PART 3
We could have called this limited edition also the " Italian job" or "gone in 60 seconds" or "purple rain"; all famous movie titles. Talking about purple rain, I apologise but I have to make a small flashback. I grew up with the music from Prince. Yet I never realised what this song is about: the end of the world. But talking about the music only, this was supposed to be a country song performed by the legendary Stevie Nicks. Nicks said she received a 10-minute instrumental version of βPurple Rainβ from Prince with a request to pen the lyrics but she felt too overwhelmed to do so. "I listened to it and I just got scared," explained Nicks. "I called him back and said, I can't do it. I wish I could. It's too much for me."
Purple Rain made Prince famous and of course purple became his color and believe it or not Purple Rain is the last song he ever played on stage. Like an Italian would say: "Si non e vero e ben trovato"
Back to now. As mentioned in our last blog they are all gone....don't waste your time sending me a mail... but we do have good custom painters that we work with. So if you want something special we can guide you to the right partner.
This project has been so much fun and was only possible with the help from a lot of industry friends. Tony Spray was the one and only for the paint job (the Italian job). And of course Giulio from Ingrid was an important one also. I actually ordered the wrong cassette from Ingrid because I wanted to have 12 speed. Then I realised that you can only use mechanical shifting ...Our tech guy Martin came and mentioned Ratio technology that offers a 11 to 12 speed SRAM hack and other cool stuff.. Just look at the installation video how you make the upgrade. So simple at the end...
